Check out the Q&A with our Newest Member in the Spotlight, Lucky!

1. Mention one goal. When you hope to accomplish it?
One of my goals is to visit every football stadium of all of the schools in the southeastern conference. The SEC has 14 universities and I have attended football games in all except Texas A&M, Missouri, Arkansas, and Kentucky. I hope to have this checked off within the next five years.

2. Can you remember the first thing you bought with your own money? It was?
My earliest recollection is after helping my grandfather cleaning all of the cages in his quail farm him giving me 2 dollars and taking me to town. I remember buying a Grapico soft drink and 4 hotwheel cars. The main thing I remember was always playing carefully with those cars for the simple fact that I had spent my own money on them. Kinda makes me wonder what ever happened to those 4 cars, because I kept them for years, they may actually be in my attic in some storage boxes lol

3. What was the worst punishment you had when you were a child?
What did you do? I actually got 2 whippings in one day for the same thing lol. I remember coming home from six flags amusement park after going with a friend. And my grandfather was at our house plowing the garden with one of the old style tillers (keep in mind this tiller didn't have any safety features, it would not stop when you turned it loose). Well I had won a rubber snake at six flags and I thought it was the grandest thing of all and I couldn't wait to get home to play with it. As soon as I got out of the car I went running up to the garden right up behind my grandfather and promptly tossed the snake on his neck (I thought this would be hilarious) well it was at that point, my grandfather let out a yell and turned loose of the tiller and of course the tiller kept going and destroying the garden. I had no idea that he was deathly afraid of snakes. He finally got the tiller stopped and it was at that point he was breaking off a hickory and tore me up lol. Then about 2 hours later my dad got home and I got another whipping for the same thing lol. Let's just say I never went near a rubber snake again.

4. As a parent, what is one of the hardest things you've had to be "parental" about?
It's always about discipline. My biggest fear before we had kids was having those type of kids that friends and family would dread to see coming. I made the decision early that my first course of action on discipline would be talking to them and explaining right from wrong and I discovered that this actually worked wonders for my girls. There have been times that I feel that they would have liked another type of punishment as compared to me setting them down and talking to them. There have been times that I have had to take some privileges away from my girls and that guilty feeling is sometimes hard to deal with because I really do have a soft heart when it comes to my girls. So I would say that discipline with my girls has always been a struggle with me.

5. How do you spend 30 minutes of free time (or longer/shorter, if you have free time)?
I love anything outdoors so any of my free time is always spent out by the pool or on my deck. Early in the morn on the weekends out on the deck or by the pool, just listening to the birds or maybe watching the deer at the edge of the woods is some great therapy.
